Abraham Cowley
Abraham Cowley was a prominent English poet, born in 1618. He started writing poetry at a remarkably young age and became a well-known figure by the time he attended the University of Cambridge. His works include 'The Mistress', 'Pindarique Odes', and 'Davideis', an unfinished epic. Cowley was also involved in the Royalist cause during the English Civil War and spent some years in exile. Despite his early popularity, his fame dwindled after his death in 1667. Cowley's influence on later poets, however, is undeniable.
