Charlotte Bronte
Charlotte Brontë was an English novelist and poet, born on April 21, 1816, in Thornton, West Yorkshire, England. She was the eldest of the three Brontë sisters who survived into adulthood. Educated at home after the death of her two older sisters, Charlotte went on to become a governess before embarking on a writing career. She is best known for her novel 'Jane Eyre', which was published in 1847 under the pen name 'Currer Bell' and received critical acclaim for its innovative and personal style.
