Clement Clarke Moore

Clement Clarke Moore was an American writer and professor of oriental and Greek literature. He is best known for his poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas" which later became famous as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas". Born in New York City, Moore was also a devout scholar and philanthropist, contributing significantly to the Episcopal Church and General Theological Seminary. His enduring legacy remains his contribution to Christmas lore.
