David Law Proudfit

David Law Proudfit was an American poet and playwright who often wrote under the pseudonym Peleg Arkwright. Born in Newburgh, New York, he pursued a career in writing after graduating from Yale College. Proudfit contributed to a number of periodicals and produced several volumes of poetry. His contributions to literature also include works for the theater. Unfortunately, his life and career were cut short when he died in 1897.
