Edmund Blunden

Edmund Blunden was an English poet, author, and critic, born on November 1, 1896. He was known for his World War I poetry and vivid depictions of the war’s horrors. Blunden also served as an officer in the war, which deeply influenced his works. He wrote extensively about his experiences, bringing a humane and introspective perspective. Blunden was a recipient of the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry and held several academic positions. He died on January 20, 1974.
