James Thomson
James Thomson was a Scottish poet and playwright, known for his poems 'The Seasons' and 'The Castle of Indolence'. Born on September 11, 1700, in Ednam, Roxburghshire, he was educated at Jedburgh Grammar School and the University of Edinburgh. Thomson moved to London in 1725, where he eventually became a playwright. He died on August 27, 1748 in Richmond. Thomson's work had a significant influence on the Romantic movement in literature.
