Nathan Haskell Dole

Nathan Haskell Dole (1852-1935) was an American editor, educator, author, and translator. He was known for his translations of Russian literature, especially works by Leo Tolstoy. Dole also wrote poetry and published several books and articles. Throughout his career, he contributed to the dissemination of Russian culture and literature in the English-speaking world. Dole's efforts helped to bridge cultural gaps and provided English readers with access to important Russian literary works.
