Patrick Bronte

Patrick Brontë was an Irish priest and writer, most noted for being the father of the famous Brontë sisters, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne. Born on March 17, 1777, in County Down, Ireland, he served as an Anglican curate throughout his life. Brontë published his first poem in 1811 and four small volumes of verse afterward. He died on June 7, 1861. Besides his own work, his primary legacy is his children, who became some of the most famous novelists in English literature.
