Stephen Phillips
Stephen Phillips was an English poet and dramatist, best known for his poems and plays in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He gained early success with his collection 'Poems' in 1897, and his play 'Paolo and Francesca' was particularly well-received. His works often explored themes of love, tragedy, and historical events. Despite a successful start, he faced financial difficulties and his later works did not gain the same acclaim.
