William Congreve
William Congreve was an English playwright and poet known for his witty, satirical comedies. Born on January 24, 1670, in England, he studied at Trinity College, Dublin, where he met and befriended Jonathan Swift. Congreve's most famous works include 'The Way of the World' and 'Love for Love'. His sharp dialogue and comedic prowess established him as a key figure in Restoration comedy. Despite his limited output, his work has had a lasting impact on English literature. He died on January 19, 1729.
