            In July,
    Some reap rye;
            In August,
    If one will not the other must.

    The fair maid who, the first of May,
    Goes to the fields at break of day,
    And washes in dew from the hawthorn tree
    Will ever after handsome be.

    The mackerel's cry,
    Is never long dry.

    A man of words and not of deeds,
    Is like a garden full of weeds;
    For when the weeds begin to grow,
    Then doth the garden overflow.

    As the days grow longer,
    The storms grow stronger.

    As the days lengthen,
    So the storms strengthen.
